Ebay Motors
I don't know whether you have heard but ebay motors have recently released an app for the iPhone. This app enables the user to search ebay Motors' big database of vehicles and parts for sale, but it also has an area of the app called the Garage. This is where you input both the vehicles you own (My Vehicles) and the vehicles you want to own (Dream Vehicles), making it easy to search for either with the flick of a finger. One slick feature is that you can add vehicles to your Garage by using the iPhone's camera to scan a VIN barcode, which is usually located on the inside of the driver's door.
So, why am I telling you this? Well this is a good example of how people research and buy cars these days. It is a well know fact the dealer showroom traffic is on the decline in the UK. Now on average, someone looking to buy a car will only visit two dealerships.
What does this mean for car dealerships? Well it means that car dealers will have to embrace this new form of customer research if they want to maintain a high level of car sales. Why not get live chat for your website? What this allows you to do is to engage and interact with your customers in a way that is more convenient to them. When the potential customer visits your site, they will be presented the option of talking instantly to a member of your sales team, so without even having to leave their computer desk to pick up a phone, they are provided with all the answers they need. Also, using live video presentation allows the potential customer to visit the car they want from your dealership, without actually going to visit your dealership.
Why is this important? Well 41% of 1,179 online consumers surveyed decided not to make a planned purchase because they couldn't readily find a piece of information about the product or service. By providing these customers with the information they need, you will dramatically decrease the number of customers abandoning their shopping carts.
Car dealers across the nation should be embracing this new addition to car sales!
