No Social Media = bad news for your business

social media 1 (1)

Imagine this scenario, you as a car dealer made a sale to a customer. In the report on the car, your mechanic forgot to write down some vital information that would effect the efficiency of the car, and would therefore make it harder to sell. However you being oblivious to this go on to make the sale believing the car is in full working condition. The customer then takes this car home to later break down whilst on their way to work. The customer's trust is broken. To share their bad auto retail experience and to stop other potential customers from encountering the same problems, they get on various social media sites and tell their story.

This is going to spell bad news for your business. Due to this new form of media, companies can no longer regulate what is said about them. Therefore it is now important to understand and be part of online conversation. It is important for you as a business to embrace this new form of media to limit the potential damage this could do to your reputation and customer relations. By making sure your employees are familiar with social media, they will be able to use your twitter/ facebook account to diffuse a potential crisis as well as maintaining everyday customer support and share information.

To understand the importance of social media for car dealers and how it can help you effectively manage a potential business crisis, as well as improve customer relations I recommend you watch this video.
